Earlier today at the State House, President Muhammadu Buhari had signed into law the New 30k Minimum wage which is believed would be enforced for implementation starting month of May 2019
Especially to commemorate the forth coming May Day and workers day, it was a move that many observers termed as long over due oweing that the last upward review in minimum wage was eight years ago..
However there seem to be cautious optimism as workers are weary and argue that increment in minimum wage and systemic withdrawal of Subsidy from petroleum product is like taking one step forward and several steps backwards, leaving the increment almost worthless in actual economic value as regards comsumer purchasing power.
Whatever the case may be. Workers look forward to a new National Minimum wage.
