News making the rounds now and the most Serious Political story trending both on social media online and conventional media has it that South African president Jacob Zuma has resigned as South African President.
His resignation was reported to have been just before a motion of no confidence was about to be passed on him.
In an emotion laden voice speaking to his country men, Jacob Zuma 75.
"I fear no motion of no confidence or impeachment.. I will continue to serve the people of South Africa and the ANC. I will dedicate my life to continuing to work for the execution of the policies of our organisation".
Those were Jacob Zuma's words to the Nation in a televised address late wednesday..
"No life should be lost in my name. The ANC should never be divided in my name. I have therefore come to the decision to resign as president of the republic with immediate effect.
Recall that Jacob Zuma is a former anti-apartheid activist who has led the ANC since 2007 and has been south African president since year 2009 although his tenure is only due to expire next year.
First it was Robert Mugabe, Now it is Jacob Zuma.
